Kerry
Biog:
My name is Kerry and I have been with Complete Orlando since it was started, however I have been in travel for 11 years. I love working at Complete Orlando and it’s great knowing that you are able to put a smile on people’s faces!
Trips to Orlando:
I’ve been 11 times and I’m already looking forward to my next trip.
Area of Expertise:
When I visit Orlando I always rent a private villa and have been lucky enough to stay all over the destination. So I guess that makes me a villa expert! As a fan of rollercoasters, my knowledge of the parks is also very good – it’s where I spend all my time when we’re there.
Ideal trip to Orlando:
In my opinion, September is definitely the best time of year to visit Orlando. The weather is still warm, but you are just out of season (making it a little cheaper). My first priority is to hit the parks, first port of call always being Disney’s Magic Kingdom! Having a villa, means more flexibility so we always try and spend the odd day relaxing by the pool or heading to the Malls to pick up some bargains.
Favourite ride?
It has to be The Hulk at Universal’s Islands of Adventure
If you could be any character who would it be?
Goofy!
Maria
Biog:
I’ve only been in travel 21 years….! I worked for a larger tour operator for 16 years and did vast amount of travelling around the world…. then along came a family. I returned back to work and decided to change direction, within three months I went back to travel, it’s like a bug!!
I’ve worked at Complete Orlando for two years, doing what I’m best at and love doing, which is talking about Orlando!
Trips to Orlando:
I’ve been to Orlando six times.
Area of Expertise:
Having been to Orlando a number of times, I have been lucky enough to have stayed in an array of hotels and condominiums across different areas. I’ve visited all the parks including a fabulous day at Discovery Cove. I certainly have no preference in airlines; both BA and Virgin Atlantic have always offered a comfortable trip with good entertainment.
So you could say I’m a bit of an all-round expert!
Ideal trip to Orlando:
My ideal trip was my visit last year! We went to Orlando at the beginning of December and stayed at Vista Cay, the apartment was huge and in a great location. Although the parks were busy there was nothing to match the sight of Cinderella’s Castle with the Christmas lights being turned on. The amazing Osbourn Family Spectacle Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a must see as well. The weather was cooler, however perfect for walking around the parks.
Favourite ride:
Erm, tricky one…Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
If you could be any character who would it be?
Would have to be Minnie as my Dad called me Minnie when I was young (not anymore!)!
Sarah
Biog:
I have worked within the leisure and travel industry for 6 years and I have been with Complete Orlando since it started, it’s great to do a job where you get to talk about a place you love!
Trips to Orlando:
I have been to Orlando five times.
Area of Expertise:
Accommodation is what I know best, I have loads of tips and pointers to help people out! When staying in Orlando, I recommend staying as close to the attractions as possible.
When travelling in a large group we like to stay in a villa as this is more practical, however staying onsite at Disney has it benefits such as free transportation from Orlando International as well as being within Disney itself.
Personally, I have stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk which was great and it’s within walking distance to Epcot. Universal’s Portofino Bay is also a lovely property in a great location, it’s within walking distance of Universal but it’s also nice to use the water taxis available just outside of the hotel.
I also know the parks very well, my favourite being Disney’s Hollywood Studios & Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Discovery Cove is also a brilliant day, a definite a must!
Ideal trip to Orlando:
Persoanlly, Orlando between March and May is the best time, the airfares are lower than travelling in the summer months and the weather is slightly cooler. Easter does tend to get very busy and expensive so to get the best availability and prices this has to be booked a year in advance, otherwise the airfares sell out very quickly. I would stay somewhere such as Vista Cay or Windsor Hills – both offer great locations and plenty of space. I wouldn’t stay for anything less than 14 nights.
Favourite ride?
There are so many to choose from! It would have to be Tower of Terror & Rock ‘n’ Roller at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Mummy at Universal Studios is also a favourite.
If you could be any character who would it be?
Tinkerbell
Steve
Biog:
I have been in the travel industry since leaving school (not going to say how long that is!). I have been fortunate to work for two large, specialist tour operators and gained some excellent experience and first-hand product knowledge of the US, Middle East, Indian Ocean and Far East.
Trips to Orlando:
I think I have visited Orlando and other parts Florida approximately 10 times.
Area of Expertise:
I think I’d have to say accommodation! I’ve had the chance to see many different hotels and resorts throughout the Orlando area and indeed the rest of Florida. I know the best spots to stay and ways to make your money go further.
Ideal trip to Orlando:
My ideal trip would be for a minimum of 14 nights. Anything shorter it’s just not enough time. I’m a fan of condo accommodation. This affords you plenty of space and privacy (separate bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen etc.). So you can put the kids to bed, and then relax in the living room or on the balcony. A busy for days at the parks, and then a day off around the pool relaxing! Shopping and dining in the evenings.
Favourite ride:
I’m a fan of all the Disney parks, Universal Orlando parks and of course SeaWorld Orlando!? Tough question….I’d have to say Kraken at SeaWorld Orlando.
If you could be any character who would it be?
The Beast…from Beauty & the Beast (always had a soft spot for Belle!)
